GetFired.au is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it – in plain language.

1. Who We Are

GetFired.au is operated by GetFired Pty Ltd, an Australian company. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy refer to GetFired Pty Ltd and the GetFired.au platform.

2. What We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account information – name and email address when you sign up
  • Usage data – pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns (via analytics tools)
  • Calculator inputs – financial figures you enter into our tools, which may be stored if you have an account
  • Technical data – IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically

We do not collect sensitive financial account credentials or bank login details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the service
  • Save your calculator scenarios and preferences (if logged in)
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. account verification, billing receipts)
  • Understand how the service is used so we can improve it
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns; this data is anonymised and does not identify you personally.

Cross-border disclosure. Google Analytics may transfer anonymised usage data to servers operated by Google LLC in the United States. We have taken reasonable steps to ensure that Google's handling of this data complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP 8). No personally identifiable financial information is transmitted to Google Analytics.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located exclusively in Australia (Sydney region). Our application servers, database, and web infrastructure all run within Australian jurisdiction. We use industry-standard security measures including AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS encryption in transit.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Notifiable Data Breaches. In the event of an eligible data breach under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Our target notification window is within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

6. Sharing with Third Parties

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers – e.g. hosting, authentication, payment processing – bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Law enforcement – if required by law or to protect our legal rights

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Your Rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing communications

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Children

GetFired.au is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the site or emailing you. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
