Privacy Policy

GetFired.au is operated by GetFired Pty Ltd, an Australian company. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy refer to GetFired Pty Ltd and the GetFired.au platform.

We may collect the following types of information:

• Account information – name and email address when you sign up
• Usage data – pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns (via analytics tools)
• Calculator inputs – financial figures you enter into our tools, which may be stored if you have an account
• Technical data – IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically
• Support and feedback – the message and minimum technical context you choose to send us, plus our response history

We do not collect sensitive financial account credentials or bank login details.

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the service
• Save your calculator scenarios and preferences (if logged in)
• Send transactional emails (e.g. account verification, billing receipts)
• Understand how the service is used so we can improve it
• Prepare support and feedback for review by an authorised human operator
• Comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns; this data is anonymised and does not identify you personally.

We also use New Relic to monitor how the site performs and to record how visitors move through it (pages visited, clicks, scrolling and taps) so we can find where GetFired is hard to use, and Sentry to capture error reports when something goes wrong. Text you type and the figures in your workspace and calculator results are masked in the browser before anything is sent, so recordings never contain your financial information. Recordings are linked to an internal pseudonymous identifier only, never to your name or email address.

Cross-border disclosure. Google Analytics may transfer anonymised usage data to servers operated by Google LLC in the United States, and New Relic and Sentry may transfer masked recordings and error reports to servers operated by New Relic, Inc. and Functional Software, Inc. in the United States. We have taken reasonable steps to ensure that each provider's handling of this data complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP 8). No personally identifiable financial information is transmitted to any of them.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work.

Your data is stored on servers located exclusively in Australia (Sydney region). Our application servers, database, and web infrastructure all run within Australian jurisdiction. We use industry-standard security measures including AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS encryption in transit.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Notifiable Data Breaches. In the event of an eligible data breach under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Our target notification window is within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

We may share your information with:

• Service providers – e.g. hosting, authentication, payment processing – bound by confidentiality obligations
• Australian-region support processing – when enabled, Amazon Web Services processes a minimised copy of support or feedback text in Sydney to suggest a category, evidence briefing, and editable reply draft. We exclude your name, email address, account identifier, case reference, mailbox identifiers, saved financial information, and other cases. An authorised operator remains responsible for any action or response.
• Law enforcement – if required by law or to protect our legal rights

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of marketing communications

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

GetFired.au is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the site or emailing you. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
