Terms of Service

Last updated:

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using GetFired.au. By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. The Service

GetFired.au provides financial modelling tools designed to help Australians explore Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) scenarios. The tools are for educational and illustrative purposes only and do not constitute financial advice.

Nothing on this site should be relied upon as a substitute for professional financial, tax, or legal advice tailored to your circumstances.

2. Not Financial Advice

GetFired.au does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and does not provide financial product advice as defined under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).

We operate under the exemption in s911A(2)(eb) of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), which permits the provision of general advice via a publicly accessible online information service whose sole or principal purpose is not the provision of financial product advice. The content on this platform — including calculators, financial modelling tools, educational material, historical data, and illustrative projections drawn from personal experience and reputable public sources — falls within that exemption. We are not required to hold an AFSL for the services we provide here.

Our calculators are general-purpose tools. They do not take your personal circumstances into account and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed financial adviser.

In particular, you should be aware that:

  • General assumptions are used, not your personal circumstances. Our calculators apply standard defaults (e.g. assumed investment returns, inflation rates, tax rates) that may not reflect your situation.
  • Results are projections, not predictions. Outputs are illustrative estimates based on the inputs you provide. Actual outcomes will differ.
  • Values are shown in both nominal and real terms. Charts and timelines display nominal (future) dollars. Headline spending power figures are deflated by CPI to show purchasing power in today's dollars. Inflation is applied to expenses and wage growth is applied to income.
  • Assumptions are documented where possible. We aim to surface the default assumptions used by each calculator so you can understand what is driving the numbers. Default rates are aligned with statutory rates and ASIC guidelines where applicable.
  • Results should not be relied on for financial product decisions. Calculator outputs do not constitute a recommendation to acquire, hold, or dispose of any financial product.
  • Independent advice is recommended. You should consult a qualified financial adviser who holds an AFSL before making any investment, superannuation, or retirement decisions.

5. Pricing and Subscriptions

Founding Member Pricing: Users who subscribe under promotional "Founding Member" or similar early-access pricing will maintain that pricing tier for the duration of their active subscription. However, all member pricing, including Founding Member rates, may be adjusted annually to account for inflation based on the Australian Consumer Price Index (CPI). Any such adjustments will be communicated in advance via email.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods.
