More accurate super, spending that carries through, and safer edits to your workspace

·2 min read

A focused round of accuracy improvements to your projection, plus some workspace changes that make your data behave exactly as you expect.

Super Guarantee follows your income flags

Super Guarantee is now calculated on exactly the income you have marked as super-eligible, and the figure shown in the Income & Super section matches what feeds your projection. If you run self-employed or business income and leave "Attracts SG" unticked, that income is still taxed in full but generates no Super Guarantee – and if you tick it, the contribution shows up straight away. For anyone with a mix of employed and self-employed income, your projected super now reflects the split precisely.

Personal super contributions, modelled properly

Concessional (before-tax) personal super contributions are now modelled the way they actually work: the contribution reduces your taxable income and comes out of your take-home pay, so your projection reflects the real tax benefit of contributing rather than treating it as a free top-up. This matters most if you make personal deductible contributions – common for sole traders and anyone contributing outside salary sacrifice.

Your current spending carries through your working years

Your Current Position annual expenses now flow through the years before your first life-stage spending phase begins, indexed for inflation as you would expect. Projections for anyone whose spending plan only changes later – for example, at retirement – now reflect your real spending for the whole run, start to finish.

Switching your setup is safely reversible

Switching a property's ownership status now works like toggling a partner on and off: any mortgage or credit held against the property is set aside while it is not owned, and comes back exactly as you entered it when you switch back – so a mis-click or a quick round-trip changes nothing. And when you change an income source's type, the fields that depend on it update to match rather than holding a stale value behind the scenes. What you see in the form is what the engine uses.

Smaller fixes

  • Disclaimer footer now shows on the Portfolio and Journey pages when you are signed in, consistent with the rest of the site.
