Scenarios are back, and your workspace saves more reliably than ever

Two things in this release: Scenarios are back and better than ever for Premium members, and everyone – Premium or not – gets a noticeably more reliable workspace underneath it.

Scenarios, done properly

Your Current Position is your one real source of truth, and a Scenario is always a what-if layered cleanly on top of it – never a copy, never something that touches your real numbers unless you say so.

Premium members can create named scenarios again: hit New scenario, add planned actions, and override your assumptions (growth rate, inflation, and more) to explore an idea, then rename or delete it whenever you like. There's one place to pick a scenario – the Scenarios menu – and each one now shows you a plain-English summary of what it actually changes, plus the real change in FIRE age and net worth at retirement compared with Your Plan.

The best part: editing a field while a scenario is loaded now asks you directly whether you mean it for real or just want to try it as a what-if – so "what if I earned $150k?" is easy to explore without any risk to your actual data. Any what-if shows clearly next to the field, and you can edit or remove it any time.

Free members see a straightforward upgrade prompt on scenario creation – everything else about your Current Position and Your Plan works exactly as before.

A more reliable workspace, for everyone

Underneath the scenarios work, this release also carries a significant round of improvements to how your workspace saves and stays in sync – these benefit every user, Premium or not:

  • Your data now survives a save-then-reload every time, across every field in your Current Position.
  • If you have the workspace open in two tabs, you'll get a clear heads-up if one tab is about to overwrite changes made in the other, rather than losing that work silently.
  • Closing the tab moments after typing no longer risks losing what you entered.
  • If a scenario fails to load, you keep the workspace you were looking at, with a clear message and a retry option.

Restoring an earlier scenario

Restoring an earlier scenario is smoother and more accurate: the preview you see beforehand reflects your real figures, and restoring one now reliably brings your Plan along with it (windfalls, target retirement age, and so on), not just your Current Position.

Smaller improvements

  • Mobile Settings pages now show the same header and menu as the rest of the app.
  • The mortgage loan limit field now holds its value reliably after a reload.
  • The Scenario card on mobile opens smoothly when tapped.
  • The Account page is a little tidier – Saved Scenarios now lives only in the Scenarios menu.
