More than one offset account, scenarios you load when you're ready, and a clearer look at any year
This update brings your plan closer to real life and makes your projection easier to read.
Offset accounts
- A mortgage can now have more than one offset account. Each linked account counts toward the offset, and the mortgage shows them with a total.
- An offset balance typed onto a mortgage now becomes a bank account, so your projection counts it as money you have, as well as against the loan's interest.
- If you typed one before this update, your plan asks where that money is. Your projection stays as it was until you answer.
Spending & Saving
Expenses is now Spending & Saving. Work it out from what you spend or from what you save, whichever figure you know. Loan repayments come off your take-home pay first, then the one figure you enter, and the rest is worked out.
Either figure can be split into items, and a saving can be a regular deposit into one of your investments or accounts, which that account then shows too. Say whether your saving is invested or kept as cash, and see what it could grow to in 10 years. Your Plan's Spending plan card shows the same figures. With Premium, “Plan a change to this” opens Your Plan, where your saving can change from a date you pick.
Try ideas without changing your plan
A new scenario opens on its own page, and your projection stays as it is until you choose Load. Loaded the wrong one? Undo puts it back. In a couple's plan, each saved scenario's summary now says whose change it is.
A clearer look at any year
Tap a year on the chart to open the Projection Inspector. It now starts with what that year looks like, then shows where the money came from and where it went, in simple tables. Free members see every line by name, and Premium shows the dollars.
Investment properties in your projection
An investment property can now be marked to keep for good. In your projection, its rent after costs then goes toward your spending, rather than the property being counted as sold.
Easier to keep up to date
- Everything saves as you type.
- Rename anything with the pencil next to its name.
- Something half-filled is marked Unfinished, and your projection keeps running without it.
Your projection may have moved
We've made some calculations more accurate. Most plans don't change. Where one does, it's most often a couple who reach 60 in different years. Each partner's super now becomes available in the year they turn 60, so the projected year work becomes optional could come a little later.
- Loans with interest-only or fixed-rate periods are projected more closely.
- In your projection, money paid into an offset account now counts against the loan's interest from the day it lands.
- Projected capital gains tax on a property sale now applies the 12-month discount rule the way the ATO counts it.
Premium
- Premium now stays on while a failed payment is retried, so an expired card doesn't cut you off.
- Starting a trial opens a welcome that shows what you've unlocked.
New here? Start with your numbers
Answer six quick questions, about two minutes, and see when work could become optional. Rough answers are fine, and everything you enter carries into your plan when you sign up.
Already a member? Open Start with your numbers to try it filled in from your plan. Nothing in your plan changes, and at the end you can see which answers differ from your plan, with a link to each.
