FIRE calculator with whole-of-life projections
The core of GetFired is the FIRE calculator that models your path to financial independence year by year. Enter your salary, super, investments, expenses, and property details and get a projection from age 18 all the way to 92 - your entire adult financial life.
The engine is built in Go for precision - every dollar uses exact decimal arithmetic, not floating-point. No rounding errors compounding over decades.
Both a simple calculator (quick estimate) and full calculator (detailed inputs including super guarantee, salary sacrifice, rental income, and other liabilities) are available.
Save and load scenarios
Run different projections - aggressive savings, part-time work, different retirement ages - and save each one to come back to later. Your most recent scenario loads automatically when you sign in.
Education hub
A growing library of plain-English articles on financial independence topics: the 4% rule, liquid vs illiquid assets, salary sacrifice strategies, and more. All content is updated for FY2025-26 figures.
Investment fee modelling
An investment fees slider in the Assumptions section lets you model the drag of management fees on your long-term returns. Small percentages compound into big differences over 30+ years.
Editable super guarantee rate
Premium users can override the default super guarantee rate to model employer contributions above the minimum, or to account for future legislated increases.
Encryption at rest
All sensitive user data - scenarios, portfolio holdings, financial inputs - is encrypted at rest in the database. Even in the unlikely event of a data breach, your numbers stay private.
Premium and Founding Member pricing
GetFired launched with a Premium tier for power users. Early adopters lock in Founding Member pricing - a permanently lower rate that will not increase for as long as your subscription is active.
